Through Our Eyes with Dr. Bill Guillory

Friday, February 8, 2019, 6-8pm, Paramount Theater, “Through Our Eyes” is an historical and cultural storytelling of African Americans’ contribution to Farmville during the 1950’s and 1960’s. This event will be facilitated by Dr. Bill Guillory, one of the most dynamic transformational speakers, conference and seminar facilitators of our time. The sessions will be videoed and documented in a publication preserving the legacy of the rich history of Farmville’s African Americans. Cool John Ferguson LIVE AT THE FCAC

We are thrilled to announce that through a generous grant from the NC Arts Council’s Grassroots program, we have received funding to bring two Music Maker performing artists for two live performances in our theatre. For the first artist in our series, we are excited to welcome Cool John Ferguson to the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, March 16th at 7pm!

Sheila Turnage Book Talk & Signing

Thursday, January 24, 2019, 5:30-7pm at the DeVisconti Event Center (next to the GlasStation), 3732 W. Wilson St, Farmville.

Join us for a wonderful evening of Book Talk & Signing with local award-winning author, Sheila Turnage.  She will discuss her latest book, and the final segment of the Mo and Dale mystery adventures,  The Law of Finders, Keepers.  She will also sign her books.

Books will be for sale throughout the event by Farmville Furniture.  A partial portion of the sales will be contributed to the building fund for the Farmville Public Library.

Visions of Renewal: Inspired Work about Healing & Recovery Surrounding the Opioid Epidemic

Artist Holly Roddenberry, Pitt County Coalition on Substance Abuse, The East Carolina ArtSpace, and FCAC will sponsor “Visions of Renewal: Inspired Work about Healing & Recovery Surrounding the Opioid Epidemic” at the East Carolina ArtSpace, 3747 South Main Street, Farmville.
This exhibit and discussion will focus on Holly’s art, the impact of the current Opioid Epidemic, and the role of art and faith in recovery.

You are invited to the Opening Reception for our November Artist of the Month, Stuart Schuckman.  Raised mainly in Wilmington, he has been drawing ever since he picked up a crayon.  Throughout high school he concentrated on pen & ink expressions but turned to watercolor and eventually gouache in his late teens.  He is building up his technical knowledge of landscapes, portraits, comic book-inspired art, fantasy, sci-fi, and superheroes. Begun in the hallways of Farmville High School, it has been 50 years since the Farmville Downbeats reunited!  Jones Fuquay, Mike Taylor, Glenn Johnston, Henry D. Jefferson, Frank Jones, and Richard “Dick” Anderson will be putting down the tunes from the 60s at this reunion on Sunday afternoon, November 11 AND paying tribute to our veterans.  Come join the celebration of this family-friendly event as this awesome reunites to play beach music, rock & roll…be ready to dance.  Donations welcomed at the door.
