Falling for the Arts Gala

We invite you to FALL FOR THE ARTS with us on Saturday, October 6th, 2018 at the Major Benjamin May DAR Chapter House from 6:30pm-10:30pm. The Emerald City Big Band will be on hand to entertain and we will have delicious food catered by Front Porch Catering. Black tie is suggested.

Paper tickets may be purchased at some of our area merchants including Dance Unlimited, Dapper Dan’s, Farmville Furniture Company, and at the Farmville Chamber of Commerce.

Artist of the Month: Karla M. Jennings

Karla M. Jennings, a retired middle school math teacher and self taught artist, will be the Farmville Community Arts Council Artist Of the Month for May.
All are invited to the Opening Reception, Thursday, May 3, at the Paramount Theatre, 5:30pm-7:00pm
Karla started painting with watercolors in high school and began working in oils her senior year of high school through college.  Shortly after college, she took oil painting classes under Dan Morgan and Clara Flanagan through the Farmville Community Arts Council. She now teaches beginning and intermediate watercolor classes of her own in Snow Hill. Karla paints realistic scenes and enjoys painting things that relate to her rural upbringing in Greene County.
This will be the final Reception and Show for FCAC Artist of the Month for the 2017/2018 Season.  See you September 2018.

Youth Drama Camp 2018

When school is out, drama is in!

Using instruction and performance opportunities, kids will learn the fundamentals of theatre over the course of one week, including a performance on that Friday!

Join us to learn that left is right and down is front, as well as The Importance of Being Off-Book!

This drama camp is co-sponsored by the Farmville Community Arts Council and Farmville Parks and Recreation.

Ages: 6-9 and 10-18

Time: 9 am-12 pm for 6-9 and 1 pm-4 pm for 10-18

Artist: Randy Walters

Randy Walters, owner of Farmville Furniture Company, will be the AOM for March. Randy has been interested in art since childhood and has been painting as long as he can remember. He has an art education degree from ECU and taught art in the Nash County Public School System (Southern Nash High School). He paints in oils and acrylics, primarily in an impressionistic manner. Some years ago, the Greenville Museum of Art hosted a one-man show of his work.

His work will be on display from March 8-28 at the DeVisconti Event Center on Wilson Street. FCAC is honored to partner with the DeVisconti Event Center in this endeavor and opportunity to explore additional spaces for display of artwork in Farmville.

Family friendly, this event is your chance to play with friends, old and new, at the Paramount Theatre. Not a musician? That’s OK, too! We need you in the audience!
